John Zakhem, Colorado Super Lawyer
Colorado Super Lawyers are considered leading attorneys in the area of law in which they practice, and are selected annually by a survey of the state's top lawyers by Law & Politics Magazine. The objective of the Super Lawyers selection process is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource to assist attorneys and sophisticated consumers in the search for legal counsel.
The publishers of Law & Politics and Super Lawyers launched The Rising Stars Edition of Super Lawyers to recognize the top up-and-coming attorneys -- those who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. In 2009 & 2010, Colorado Super Lawyers awarded this honor to John Zakhem, Zakhem Law’s President and Managing Partner, for his outstanding performance, professionalism and embodiment of ethical standards.
In July 2008, the New Jersey Supreme Court upheld the findings of a Special Master assigned by the court to examine the details of the Super Lawyers selection process. The Special Master lauded the process, stating:
“[The Super Lawyers selection process] is a comprehensive, good-faith and detailed attempt to produce a list of lawyers that have attained high peer recognition, meet ethical standards, and have demonstrated some degree of achievement in their field."
“It is absolutely clear from this record that [Super Lawyers does] not permit a lawyer to buy one’s way onto the list, nor is there any requirement for the purchase of any product for inclusion in the lists or any quid pro quo of any kind or nature associated with the evaluation and listing of an attorney or in the subsequent advertising of one’s inclusion in the lists.”
